HARDWOOD FLOOR BUFF & RECOAT
RESTORE THE FINISH.
PRESERVE THE FLOOR.
A professional screen, buff and maintenance coat can renew appearance and protection—
without a complete resand, when your existing floor is a suitable candidate.
MAINTENANCE BEFORE REFINISHING
RENEWAL WITHOUT
A FULL RESAND.
A buff and recoat lightly abrades the existing finish so a new protective coat can bond. It refreshes an intact floor while preserving the wood, stain colour and character already in place.
BONA BUFF
WOOD FLOOR
A PROFESSIONAL ASSESSMENT COMES FIRST
IS A RECOAT RIGHT FOR YOUR FLOOR?
A GOOD RECOAT CANDIDATE
Dullness, light surface scratches or worn sheen while the finish and wood remain intact.
COMPATIBILITY CAN BE CONFIRMED
The existing coating is sound and free of wax, polish, oil or other bond-inhibiting residue.
FULL REFINISHING MAY BE NEEDED
Bare or grey wood, deep damage, finish failure, or a desired stain-colour change.
WE DO NOT GUESS
We inspect condition, contamination and adhesion before recommending the right service.
THE VALUE OF TIMELY MAINTENANCE
RESTORED APPEARANCE
A cleaner, more even finish with your existing colour intact.
RENEWED PROTECTION
A fresh maintenance coat helps protect the finish from daily wear.
LESS
DISRUPTION
A lighter process than a complete sand-and-refinish service.
LONGER
SERVICE LIFE
Maintain the finish before normal wear reaches the wood below.
CLEAN FIRST. ABRADE CORRECTLY. COAT WITH CONFIDENCE.
PREPARATION DETERMINES PERFORMANCE.
Polish, wax, oils and cleaning residue can interfere with adhesion. We evaluate the existing finish, clean the floor thoroughly and prepare the coating system before the maintenance coat is applied.
01
COMPATIBILITY
Identify the existing coating and confirm the system.
02
DEEP CLEANING
Remove soil, residue and potential contaminants.
03
ABRASION TEST
Confirm a consistent scratch pattern and reliable adhesion.
A CONTROLLED PROFESSIONAL SEQUENCE
01
ASSESSMENT & COMPATIBILITY

MECHANICAL ABRASION
Use the Bona Buffer to create a consistent bonding profile.
04
EDGES & DETAILS
Prepare perimeter and areas the main buffer cannot reach.
05
VACUUM & TACK
Remove all abrasion residue for a dust-free coating application.
06
COMPATIBILITY
FINISH APPLICATION Apply the selected professional maintenance coat evenly.
Protect the finish before wear reaches the wood.
THE RIGHT SERVICE FOR THE ACTUAL CONDITION
A RECOAT RENEWS FINISH—
IT DOES NOT RESAND WOOD.
Buff and recoat is designed for an intact finish showing ordinary wear. It will not remove deep scratches, pet stains, grey or bare wood, cupping, severe damage or an existing stain colour.
WHEN MORE CORRECTION IS NEEDED
WE’LL SAY SO.
If the wear has reached the wood or you want a colour change, we will recommend full refinishing instead of forcing a recoat where it does not belong.
PROFESSIONAL FINISHES SELECTED FOR YOUR HOME
THE RIGHT FINISH.
THE RIGHT SHEEN.
We select a compatible professional finish based on the existing floor, expected traffic, desired appearance and site conditions.
EXTRA MATTE
A low, natural look with very little reflection.
MATTE
Soft, understated sheen for a relaxed appearance.
SATIN
A balanced glow with subtle light reflection.
RETURN TO THE ROOM WITH A CLEAR PLAN
DRY TIME, CURE TIME & AFTERCARE.
Dry and cure schedules vary by finish, temperature and humidity. Before we leave, we confirm when the floor may receive light foot traffic, furniture, rugs, cleaning and normal daily use.
